Understanding the benefits of land conservation

We invite you to join us for a chance to learn about the environmental importance of conserving land. Catherine Rawson, executive director of Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy (NCLC), the largest land trust in Connecticut, will provide a presentation on the process of protecting land. Ms. Rawson is a lawyer with a Master's degree in environmental management from Yale University, and Catherine's professional experience in the environmental field spans more than 20 years.

Catherine will help explain the benefits of conserving land - such as preservation of clean drinking water, and give an overview of the vision for land conservation in the Northwest Region, as NCLC is currently working to protect 30 percent of Northwest Connecticut by 2030, to safeguard economic development, water quality, human health, and biodiversity.
