Thank you for taking time to learn more about the caring, dedicated MFA team.

I spend quality time with the important people in my life: my family, the firm’s staff, our firm’s client families, and close friends. I extend my care and commitment volunteering within the Greater Danbury community where I have served as past chairman of the Board of Directors for the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut, ten years as chairperson of the Retirement Benefit Advisory Committee for the Town of Brookfield, and volunteer youth soccer coach for eleven years. I actively participate in the life of the Congregational Church of Brookfield, serving in many leadership roles over the last 30 years.

Since 1996 I have lived in Brookfield, CT where my wife Laurie and I raised our two children.  Laurie has been an active community volunteer, recently ‘retired’ from helping support a local pre-school sharing her Social/Emotional Parenting training skills. She enjoys spending time volunteering at church and exercising daily. She is skilled in wearing many hats with her most exciting hat to wear says “I love being a grandmother! Our son Kyle graduated from Connecticut College and worked as an Account Executive in NYC for six years before joining the professional team here at MFA in September 2020. It is wonderful to be learning and evolving side-by-side with Kyle as we serve the needs of our clients. He and his wife Darrell Ann live locally with their son Bodie who arrived in December 2023.  Our daughter Kate graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and spent a year teaching and living in Madrid, Spain. In April 2022 Kate joined Cengage as an Account Executive responsible for business and sales development working with several Boston area colleges/universities. She is also a certified personal trainer and enjoys part-time coaching at Orangetheory Fitness studios in the greater Boston area.

I am a curious person. It's not uncommon for me to get distracted when an opportunity to learn something new or explore a topic more deeply arises. When possible, I learn by doing. Traveling regularly to investment conferences helps me better understand markets and financial trends. Pleasure travel to explore new landscapes and cultures broadens my perspective and forces me to question what I think I know. A learning appetite and travel helps me be my best self.

Since age 50 I have climbed in the Cascade Mountain range to the 14,000-foot peak of Mount Rainier and summited the highest elevation in Chamonix, France, climbing to the top of Mont Blanc in the Alps. I have hiked the 53-mile loop down, across and back up the Grand Canyon (R2R2R). I’ve pedaled my bicycle from New York City to Niagara Falls, NY raising funds for cancer research. When I am not exploring, look for me during the winter months on the ice at the Danbury and Ridgefield hockey rinks, or on a ski slope.  During warmer weather I enjoy being on a golf course, cycling, or boating on Candlewood Lake with family. Living close to NYC, Laurie and I find excuses to catch a Broadway show and more importantly, a visit to Madison Square Garden to cheer on our NY Rangers.
